After the acquisition of 98.78% of Granahorrar by BBVA Colombia, our firm counseled in 2006 the merger of these entities, with which the absorbing entity became, at the time of the operation, the second largest of the financial sector in assets and the first in home loan in Colombia.
Bavaria S.A. – SABMiller
The firm counseled the Santo Domingo Group in the design and implementation of a structure that would allow an international merger with SABMiller. As a result of this operation the mentioned multinational gained control of Bavaria, the largest beer company in Colombia, Peru, Panama and Ecuador. The value of the operation was US$7.8 billion dollars, being the largest transaction in terms of amount closed in Latin America during the year 2005 and the largest ever in Colombian history to that date.

The firm advised Almacenes Éxito S.A. in the merger with Gran Cadena de Almacenes Colombianos (Cadenalco), which made thelatter become the largest retail company in the country. This transaction was held in 2001.
